Our "Make Your Own Mug" Workshops are a fun, easy way to try your hand at ceramics!

This class is geared towards beginners, and uses a method called "handbuilding." Clay and all tools and supplies will be provided for you. Tickets include instruction on how to create a mug and any help you need along the way. Each participant will construct a cylinder, add a bottom, and then attach a handle.

Finally, everyone will have the option to glaze their mug with a design of their choosing, or let us dip their creation in one of our house glazes.

We will fire your piece and let you know when it is finished. It can take up to three weeks for your piece to be fired. The class will conclude with a brief tour of the Matchstick studio and an opportunity to browse our shop.

Tickets for our classes can be refunded three or more weeks before the event. Cancellations less than three weeks in advance will be non-refundable due to limited availability of seats, and the fact that each class is promoted and offered individually. Tickets can be transferred to a friend, or you can let us know you're looking for a replacement for your spot, and we will let you know if there is anyone on the waitlist.

Your ticket and order confirmation will be emailed to you after your purchase. Please reach out if you have any issues!

We were impressed by how well organized and prepared the workshop was. It was great that the potentially time-consuming and difficult parts were already prepared for us but there was still plenty that we did to feel that we had built our very own mug. It was our very first time with ceramic so the step-by-step instructions and hands-on help were very helpful.

I love everything about Matchstick Goods....and now there is even more to love by attending one of their pottery making classes! My friends and I had a great girls night out making a mug and enjoying fellowship together.
